Abstract

This study aims to analyze and analyze three types of welding defects in the overall welding process In the PT. BRT industry, especially in spatter welding, porosity, undercut, the methods used include visual observation of non-destructive testing, and documentation of surface conditions of the research results. research findings show that undercut is caused by excessive welding speed or improper electrode angle, while spatter defects occur as a result of excessive electric current or inappropriate electrode selection. Conversely, porosity appears due to gas or moisture contamination In the material or electrolyte. defects not only reduce the strength of the weld but they also have the ability to create structural instability in length. therefore understanding the causes and impacts of welding defects is essential to improving the quality and reliability of welded joints in industrial applications
