ANALISIS PENGARUH VARIASI ARUS TERHADAP KETEBALAN PLAT DAN HASIL PENGELASAN PADA PROSES PENGELASAN FCAW DI PT DHJ

Welding is an important process in the steel fabrication industry, including in large-scale infrastructure construction. One commonly used welding method is Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), which has high efficiency and good penetration. This study aims to analyze the effect of current variations on the thickness of the plate and the results of FCAW welding. The study was conducted through direct observation at PT DHJ with SS400 steel objects and current variations of 130 A to 325 A. The results showed that welding currents strongly affect the quality of the connection, with visual defects such as porosity, undercut, and incomplete fusion appearing due to inappropriate currents. The optimal current is different for each plate thickness, for example 130 a for a 6 mm plate and 270 a for a 20 mm plate
