Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role and effectiveness of wiremesh reinforcement as strengthening for subfloor structures in the construction project of a Regional General Hospital (RSUD) building. The methods used include field observations during an internship program and a literature review. The observation results indicate that the use of M6-type wiremesh functions as a tensile force resistor, a controller of cracks due to concrete shrinkage, and a means of evenly distributing loads. The analysis shows that wiremesh installation improves time efficiency (±15–20 minutes per 3×6 m span) and requires fewer workers compared to manual reinforcement. In contrast, subfloor structures without wiremesh have a higher risk of early cracking and reduced long-term durability. In conclusion, wiremesh reinforcement is highly recommended for buildings with high operational loads, such as hospitals, to ensure structural stability and service life
